Celebrate Your Wins

Updated: May 28

My W2 before I got into my sales career was under $30,000 a year. I had rent to make, I had people to impress and keep up with, I wasn’t celebrating myself at that time in my life.

When I finally got over the fear that the money was going to go away, one of my best friends in the sales industry and mentors; Juan taught me the importance of celebrating my wins.

Juan (my finance manager at the time) took me and the other top sales person (I was top he was second place) out for dinner at 3rd and Ferry in Easton, PA. It was the first time I saw somebody spend $300 on a dinner, and tip. I remember feeling extremely emotional about the situation. I knew this was a tradition I wanted to keep alive with colleagues, which I have been fortunate enough to do moving forward in my life. Celebrate your wins.

I had a monthly tradition, every last day of the month I took myself out for a nice dinner at a new restaurant and didn’t worry about the check. I earned it, and it was my thank you card to myself every single month.

These days I reward the hard work a little differently, It has evolved over time, but right now where I am in my life is the reinvestment in myself. This is something you’re probably doing right now reading this blog. So congrats on investing in your seek of more information and wanting to grow yourself.

Celebrating your wins looks differently to everybody - but make sure you’re doing it. The hamster wheel isn’t going to stop moving, I promise.

Success is a Journey
